There are many types of grinding machines used in industry, and their classification is roughly as follows.

(1) According to the type of grinding medium

① Ball mill: The medium is metal balls (steel balls or cast iron balls).

② Rod mill: The medium is steel rod.

③ Gravel mill: using gravel as the grinding medium.

④ Self grinding machine: relying on large pieces of ore as grinding medium, sometimes adding a small amount of steel balls.

(2) According to the mining method

① Overflow type grinding machine: It freely overflows the slurry through the hollow shaft neck at the discharge end.

② Grid type ball mill: It uses the pores on the grid plate installed at the discharge end for discharge.

③ Surrounding discharge type grinding machine: It discharges materials around the cylinder.

(3) According to the different shapes of the cylinder

① Short tube grinding machine≤ 1．o～1· 5 (L is the length of the grinder, D is the diameter of the grinder).

② When the length of the long tube grinder is 5-6, it is called a tube grinder when it is 5-6, and it is divided into several chambers inside, called a multi chamber grinder, which is generally used in the cement industry.

③ Cone type grinding machine: China has stopped manufacturing this type of grinding machine.
